Cookie policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This website doesn't use cookies. That's why there's no cookie banner: there's nothing to accept or decline. Our separate support portal uses one strictly necessary cookie, explained below.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website can store on your device, often used to remember settings or to track visits for analytics and advertising. Similar technologies include browser "local storage", tracking pixels and device fingerprinting. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), websites must ask your consent before using any that aren't strictly necessary.
What this website uses
None of them. VirtualRIK.com:
- doesn't set any cookies, first-party or third-party
- doesn't use local storage, session storage or any other way of storing information on your device
- has no analytics, advertising, social media widgets or tracking pixels
- doesn't load fonts, scripts or video from other companies' servers. Everything, including the video on the home page, is served from our own UK server.
Our web server does keep a standard log of each visit, such as your IP address and the page requested, to keep the site secure and working. That isn't a cookie and stores nothing on your device. Our privacy policy explains what's logged and how long it's kept.
Our support portal
The "Support" and "Log a support call" links take you to our support portal at support.virtualrik.com, which we run ourselves. It sets one strictly necessary cookie, laravel_session, so the ticket form works securely and, if you log in, so you stay logged in while you view your tickets. It expires two hours after your last visit to the portal. It's sent only over a secure connection, and scripts on the page can't read it. The portal has no analytics or tracking, and because the cookie is strictly necessary, the law doesn't require a consent banner for it.
Links to other websites
The "Contact us" buttons open your own email program and send nothing to us until you choose to send an email. If you follow a link from our pages to another website, such as the ICO, that site's own cookie policy applies.
Our client portals
This policy covers the public VirtualRIK.com website only. The secure portals we host for our clients use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep signed-in users logged in. Their cookie use is set out in each portal.
Managing cookies in your browser
Although we don't set any, you can control and delete cookies from other websites in your browser settings. The ICO has a guide: ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies.
Changes
If we ever add cookies or similar technologies to this website, we'll update this page first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent before setting them.
